In this Dream Tour segment, the country music singer, Sofia Boyden, reveals who she would want on her ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks, after the break.

There are so many musicians I would love to tour with if I ever got the chance. My dream tour would be made up of artists I look to for inspiration as both performers and songwriters, but, also, really genuine, kind people. I would want to tour with artists who have been in country music for years, but I’d also want to be with newer country music artists too. There are so many different musicians I would love to learn from, but I have a select few who inspire me.
I would absolutely love, and I mean LOVE, to tour with the King of Country, George Strait. I really do have so much to learn from him. I’ve watched countless interviews with George about his upbringing, country music influences, Texas, and everything that makes him who he is. What I love about his music is his authenticity. He is so sincere and honest in his lyrics. I will always love his song “Run” because it is such a sweet and pure love song. Touring with George Strait is something I can’t even put into words. He paved the way so artists like me could continue to put out real country music.
Another country music artist I dream of touring with is Randy Travis. I admire him as a person because, after many setbacks in his career, he still is strong in his faith and his music. I love his perspective on what country music is. Every artist has a different definition, but the way Randy simply described country music was spot on. In his memoir, he said, “To me, that is what country music is all about – touching people’s hearts.” So true. Country music is very much about relating to people. Randy does that best with his music and lyrics. If we ever toured together, I would definitely set up a write with him. Also, it would be the greatest thing ever if he brought me out on stage to duet “Forever and Ever, Amen”.
Now, touring with George Strait and Randy Travis would be amazing, to say the very least, but I don’t want to be the only girl on the tour bus! I’d want to tour with someone who is newer to the industry and closer in age to me than George and Randy. It would without a doubt be Carly Pearce. I can’t say enough good about her. Like George, I’ve done my research about her. She, like me, is influenced by some of the greatest women in country music: Dolly, Trisha, and Faith, to name a few, and you can hear it in her music. I’ve seen her live a couple of times in two different settings. Once at the Opry and another at a country music festival. Carly knows how to work a stage! And after each time I saw her, I took something away from her performances. I would love to tour with her and maybe even share the stage with her someday.
The country music community is made up of artists that truly root for one another’s success. It’s not competitive, like most genres. I see only love and support towards other artists from these people, and that’s who I would want to be surrounded by on this dream tour, or any tour. I look up to George, Randy, and Carly because of the truth and sincerity they put into their lyrics. It’s not easy to write a song about a hard time in your life and release it for the world to listen to. But that’s the point of country music. I admire that they get personal with their fans. I only hope to be like them, and someday, tour with them.

Keep up with her on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
