SomeKindaWonderful – 4th ROAD BLOG from New Politics’ “Everywhere I Go Tour”

The rock band, SomeKindaWonderful, is currently on tour supporting New Politics on their “Everywhere I Go Tour,” alongside Bad Suns, this fall. While they are on this tour, they will be doing an a blog for us. You can check out the first entry (with photos), written by Matt Gibson, after the break.

This last week has basically been more of the same: rock n roll, the road, and partying. Except it got COLD… very, very, very cold. This weeks first show was in Seattle and it was amazing. The crowd was one of the most electrifying yet, probably the loudest and most responsive until that point. The only real downside was that we had to leave that night and didn’t get to experience one of our favorite cities.

Next up was Boise, Idaho… good city, GREAT potatoes lol. This is where we picked up our band’s lucky penny. There was a penny that for some reason was sitting on the rear bumper of our van. We left it there and I kid you not, this penny stayed with us for the rest of the week until it finally must have fallen off later in the week somewhere.

On the drive to Utah, we stopped at the single greatest gas station in the world. Why is it so great you ask? Because they had LLAMAS right out front. Well, it was actually one alpaca and one sheep, but for some reason we keep referring to them as “llamas.” Of course we had to snap this wonderful photo of the magnificent creature.

After rockin the hell out of Boise, we headed to Salt Lake City, which turns out to be an incredibly beautiful city. The crowd was cool and the venue was real nice, my only complaint was the beer selection. Our dressing room was stocked with “near beer” which is only 3.2%, which is fine just so long as you remember to drink a larger quantity.

The next show was in Englewood, CO (near Denver). Other than the Cleveland show (which is my hometown), I was definitely most excited to play Denver since the show sold out months ago, and because a lot of my childhood friends currently live in Denver so it was fun as hell to see all them at the show. I don’t think I’ll ever forget looking out to the sold out crowd and seeing so many fans singing along with our songs, and not even just our single “Reverse,” but all our songs! After the show Christo from Bad Suns showed us just how talented of a photobomber he really is…

On our day off we started heading to Kansas but first we stopped to get some warmer clothes etc. That is where I found my pet hat; one part snuggly yet fierce tiger, one part head warming hat. Then I ran into this actual tiger and he asked if he and I could take a quick selfie, since he was such a fan of the hat (I am the one on the right).

I’m starting to get a little car sick typing this in the van because its extremely windy and we are being blown all over the road, so I guess I’m gonna wrap it up here. I will leave you with this pic of Jordy doing yoga (or pretending to do yoga haha) in a truckstop parking lot…. Be sure to check back next week for our next tour update!
