Our ultimate dream tour would include Hank Williams Sr., Hank Jr., and Hank III! Another dream would have been to tour with Merle Haggard or with a group called the Dixie Wranglers. Our lead singer’s (Daron) dad was in that group and they toured in the 50’s and 60’s with some of our heroes. We wrote a song called “Daddy’s Soul”, which is all about our musical lineage and respect for our roots!
We’ve had the great pleasure of playing with some of our heroes and musical legends: The Bellamy Brothers, Roy Clark, David Lee Murphy, Travis Tritt, Kenny Chesney and more. What we love about Country Music in 2016 is that there are artists who sell out venues but never have songs on the radio, don’t have a label deal, and are paving their own way. In a word, these guys are authentic. Much like us, they don’t “fit the mold” of commercial Country music. That said, the following artists are those we would love to see on our future dream tour:
1. Jason Isbell – Not only is he a stellar songwriter, he is an absolutely amazing musician and he surrounds himself with that same musicality.
2. Sturgill Simpson – His music is deep and his band is great!
3. Whitey Morgan and The 78’s – One of the best shows we have seen in the past few years! High energy, super-tight band and just a lot of fun. Musically, we fit right into their mold!
4. Cody Jinks – Troubadour from Texas, following in the footsteps of his forefathers who snubbed the shiny glitter of Nashville. Another fit for us musically.
5. Blackberry Smoke – We’ve seen this band continue to grow over the years! They’ve played everywhere and continue to pay their dues. They are not only keeping the Southern Rock tradition alive, they are taking it new places!
