The night after our bassist Nath’s birthday we had a small intimate show booked in a London living room. Everything the day after was going to plan, but not all was as it seemed.
Nath called in sick before we set off for the show, and soon after two of the other guys started feeling weird. Must have been something in the food. By the time we got to London we all felt weak and sick. It was flippin’ terrible.
BUT we got to the venue, set up and started playing through the set. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing. The small crowd were forgiving and seemed to really enjoy it, which is probably where a lot of energy came from. It’s funny how that all works.
A boy, I think his name was Jacob, who is I’m told is normally reserved and engaging with music ended up playing some percussion with us. His parents think it birthed something within him. We got home just about and although our bodies were beat, our spirits were high on life. It turned out to be one of our most memorable shows to date.
