Spose – TOUR TIPS

This set of Tour Tips was written by the hip-hop artist, Spose. You can check out his tips for being on the road, after the break.

1. Get air mattresses. You can end up spending enormous amounts of money on hotel rooms, if you can pack your whole squad into a single hotel room, you’re gonna make much more money on tour.

2. Bring extra mics and a monitor if you can. Some venues have unreliable/shitty equipment and, if you rap or sing, not having good monitors can kill your voice for the rest of the tour. Come prepared for anything.

3. Buy a van. I’ve spent way too much money renting vans in my time. If you can find a reliable van within your budget, get it because it’ll save you tons of money in the long run.

4. Bring more merch than you think. Every time I’ve ever gone out on the road I’ve sold out of merch and had to have more shipped to me at a hotel somewhere (St. Louis, for example). Don’t sell yourself short.

5. Stay active and eat salads. Bring a basketball or take advantage of hotel gyms. The road can wear you down real quick and make you sick, so stay active (even if you’re not normally) and eat healthier than you normally do because you’re not living under confined, stable circumstances whatsoever so treat your body good. Or die!
