Steven Bamidele – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the singer-songwriter, Steven Bamidele, talks about some of his crazy moments from touring. You can check out the feature, after the break.

So last year, (I was in a different band at this point)

We played in Canada for Montreal Jazz Festival. It’s an incredible part of the world and I’d love to go back, the vibe of the festival and the people is really warm and comforting.

So on the day after our set, we watched Jamie Callum’s set on the main stage. Magical. 10,000 or so people crammed into this space watching one of the biggest jazz musicians in the world. At that point, he felt like the biggest person on Earth.

A couple hours after he finishes we go an explore the city a bit more. We end up in some underground jazz club watching some insane brass compositions that we couldn’t keep up with, and who’s there? ol’ Jamie Callum. We end up having some drinks and a bit chat with him about all things musical.

It was really strange but fascinating seeing him up on that massive stage one minute, and being face to face with him the next. He a very lovely dude.
