In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the metalcore band, Suasion, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.
In 2017, we had a European tour with the Australian band Sienna Skies and the English band High Hopes. After one week touring we had to drive from The Netherlands to Lille in France. High Hopes had all the backline of the tour in their van and it broke down on the road somewhere around the Belgian coast. They were not able to make it to the show so we had no backline. And hen we arrived at the venue, we realized that the FOH was only composed of one monitor. We tried to ask the local support band for backline but they had no idea what cabs and head amplifiers were… They only owned only two 45W amps. I cannot just tell you how weird the sound setup was that day. Also, the promoter stopped the show twice to ask the singer to sing quieter to avoid issues with the neighbors. What a joke! On the other hand, the catering was 1kg of foie gras… Can you believe that? 1kg of foie gras!!! The promoter has no money for good FOH but the catering is an expensive delicacy! That said, it was totally original! And there was so much of it that we took it in the van… In the end, the show sounded like complete ass but it was a very funny experience and the other bands were pretty nice. Thanks to them for saving the show.
