The Supervillains – TOUR PRANKS

The greatest prank we ever pulled was the locking gas cap prank.

We were on tour with Patent Pending (love those guys). The prank involved me saying that I needed to do an interview in their van where it was nice and quiet, so I could hide a key, so they weren’t really screwed if they got stuck on the side of the road, I could always help them. I’m not that much of a dick.

So anyway, while they were on stage, we went to the auto parts store and bought a locking gas cap and hid the keys. We installed the locking gas cap on their van while they had no idea what was going on because they were on stage.

The show ended and we all said goodbye until the next show which was a lengthy drive so we knew they would have to stop for gas. I reminded them if they ever had any issues on the road we would always be there to help.

The next show came and they were there without incident only to find out that they spent hours on the side of the road trying to get the gas cap off and searching their absolutely filthy van only to eventually find the sticker where I hid the key. Not wanting to be bested, they didn’t call to ask where the key was.

After discovering the second key under the floor mat they all wondered how I got it in there, then the drummer remembered that he let me in to do the interview.
