Surfin' Charlie

In this Dream Tour segment, the pop rock band, Surfin’ Charlie, reveals who they would want on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks, after the break.

A dream tour would be best if you shared it with people who are able to notice when the line is crossed. It’s very important to not be surrounded by anyone who gets on your very last nerve, in a tour environment that can be VERY destructive because there’s no getting away unless you’re the Sex Pistols & you break up there & then. People who can behave while being under pressure and don’t let too much drugs or megalomania run their ambitions & attitudes towards others are really important. You gotta know how to party but you also gotta know when the party is over. Respect is the word we’re looking for here, it’s important to show it to others!
Basically what we’re trying to say is that you wouldn’t wanna travel from gig to gig with a bunch of a-holes. You never know if the heroes that used to hang on your childhood walls are assholes or not, so the best thing would be to travel with a bunch of fellas you already know! In our case, that would be a band called The Perfect Mess.
The Perfect Mess is a local band that is really, really good, it’s about the only local band that’s any good apart from us, we dare say! Ha! We always have fun together & we’re both very passionate about our music. We’ve already played with them a couple of times & shared a bill, but a dream tour would be touring across the United States together, or the Far East. Just exploring stuff & places, taking polaroids & finding cool bars. Maybe find some cozy recording studio somewhere & lay down the groove. The dream tour would not be about just playing music, earning a dollar & doing the thing you love, but also to get to see things you’ve never seen before.
Our shows can be very, very energetic, loud and intense. So it would be nice to include something else in contrast to that. 2/4 of our band went to see Pale Honey live in Gothenburg, & they were fucking amazing! Their last album ”Devotion” was the best record we’ve heard in years. They would be the perfect thing because they’ve got tons of energy when they play live, but the overall feeling is more of a chill vibe, whereas Surfin’ Charlie is more like loud simple punk-energy. We want the best of both worlds for our dream tour!
It would be nice to tour with Mac Demarco as well, you’d never have to worry about not having a cigarette if you’d want one + he seems to be the kind of person who always puts a smile on a sad face. That if something is what a grumpy group like us needs!

Keep up with the band on Facebook and Instagram.
