The Technicolors – 2nd ROAD BLOG from their “2013 U.S. Tour”

The Phoenix based rock ‘n roll band, The Technicolors, is currently on tour, including dates with The Psychedelic Furs. While they’re on this tour, they will be doing an exclusive Road Blog for us. You can check out their second entry (with pictures), after the break.

Where did we leave off? Ah yes, the Great Madison Face Smash of 2013.
Well I would feel leaving that night on the note of Nico trying to kill me would be inappropriate, (just as inappropriate as Nico’s actions). Madison for us was amazing. The crowd was energetic, which always makes for good fun.
From there we made two quick stops, one in Des Moines, Iowa and one in Urbana, Illinois. Unfortunately we didn’t have much time in either spot to explore. And when I say explore, I mean walk around for a few minutes, find a hipster coffee shop, put our feet up, listen to some Vampire Weekend and lose ourselves in the music. The moment you want it. You better never let it go. You only get one shot, do not miss your chance… Ok sorry. Anyways, after that we found ourselves in CHICAGO.
We were anticipating this one for a while. Chicago is one of our favorite cities. We played at the House of Blues there and immediately wanted to go back once we had to leave. Playing at the legendary venue with a legendary band the Psychedelic Furs, with a crazy sold out crowd, made this night one we will never forget.
From there we found ourselves in Detroit. Most notable moment you ask? An egg. Yes, our trailer got egged. (See photo below).
Then came Cleveland, Boston, and New York. All amazing cities, all amazing shows. After the show in New York, we wandered around the city a bit. We wound up in Little Italy and Chinatown. One could assume that Little Italy in New York would be massive, and one would be totally correct. It felt as if we were swimming in a sea of tan men wearing track jackets and gold chains. An army of guidos. And I can say that because technically I am one. Anybody who’s last name rhymes with ‘pizza’ cannot deny his Italian heritage. While there, we witnessed Kevin eating more Zeppole’s than any man could imagine.
That leaves us with today. We are on our way to Philly. Ryan is driving, Brennan is capitalizing on the space he has on the middle bench (as am i on the front one) while listening to Weezer (probably), Kevin and Dong Ill Lee are snuggled on the back bench, and Nico is watching something on his laptop and giggling to himself as always. My guesses are South Park, Good Burger, something that involves zombies, or maybe he’s just researching the behavior of single displacement chemicals found on the acid-based interior of a decomposing animal corpse with an emphasis on the bilateral decompression that occurs between death and decay. I don’t know.
Peace be with you.
