Tengger Cavalry – DREAM TOUR

In this Dream Tour segment, the Mongolian folk metal band, Tengger Cavalry, let you know who they would like on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out the feature, after the break.

Nature Ganganbaigal – Mongolian throat-singing vocals, Mongolian flute, Mongolian guitar (Tovshuur)
I would like to tour with Eluveitie because they are a great folk metal band who share similar ideas to Tengger Cavalry in terms of their usage of multiple folk instruments with metal compositions, even though they obviously have a much larger ensemble. Furthermore, they also sing about ancient warriors and shamanism and nature. In many ways, it’s a perfect match, even if they do come from a totally different part of the world!

Robert McLaughlin – Ethnic fiddle
Touring with Huun Huur Tu would be awesome, they are friends of mine from Tuva and they are one of the most influential Tuvan bands. They have helped greatly in sharing the culture with the world. they play a very traditional style and also incorporate modern elements with some of the instruments they play and the way they compose their music. They incorporate guitar and some different percussion instruments. They have a more fresh sound, but are very seasoned in Tuvan music and perform throat singing in a very traditional style.

Uljmuren – Morin Khuur
I really like Fourplay’s energy and mood. Even though they sound very different from us I feel like it could be a pretty fun show. They have some really cool compositions, it’s pretty obvious that there are some killer musicians in that band! Maybe it’s just because I want to be able to see them tear up the stage night after night! I grew up listening to them too, so they have quite a bit of nostalgic value for me.

Alex Abayev – Bass
I dream of touring with Kreator. Coma Of Souls was my favorite Kreator album when I was 15. So even though I would tour with almost any metal band, but my favorites are… well favorites change with years… it doesn’t really matter to me who we tour with as long as it’s fun. Currently, I would love to tour with Nile or Melechesh and maybe Arkona and Behemoth. While some bands lose my interest with time, some bands gain it back again, but Kreator is one of the bands that never lost my interest, even now. That doesn’t mean that I like all of the albums the same, some more, some less. but the band was always cool.

Josh Schifris – Drummer
I want to tour with Kalmah because they aren’t a band that really tours the US. That would help to bring an exotic element to the show as a whole. We also as a band has similarities to melodic death metal bands like Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth, which is obviously kind of where Kalmah are coming from musically, so I think that would really allow us to appeal to fans of Kalmah and generate crossover interest.

Keep up with the band on Facebook and Twitter!
