Terra Lightfoot – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, the rock artist, Terra Lightfoot, talks about her first concert ever. You can check out the feature, after the break.

I went to my first concert ever with my grandparents when I was eight. I used to spend summers with them and the most exciting thing that happened in their town was a festival called Heritage Days. This amazing and huge Canadian band Blue Rodeo was playing and I remember walking and holding hands with my grandma, hearing the music and seeing the guys onstage — and then basically getting so excited that I busted free from her grip and ran up to the front of the stage to see the guitar player up close. This was before I had ever laid hands on a guitar.

I was so massively excited by seeing this band onstage, and hearing loud guitars and drums and watching the singer strutting around the stage. I still remember the song they were playing, ringing in my ears like it was yesterday (“Diamond Mine”).

The coolest part of this story is that I was afforded the chance to open for Blue Rodeo across Canada two years ago, and I got to tell this story to their crowd every night.
