.) Never forget the Axe and baby wipes! When you’re riding around with a bunch of dudes, it can get real gross real quick. Be kind to your fellow bandmates and shower regularly, and use those wipes when you can’t.
.) Always call home. Your wife or mama will thank you for it! It gets crazy on the road, and your family never stops worrying. Make it easier on them and yourself, and always check in.
.) Take lots of pictures and video. Touring is a unique opportunity to see the world (sometimes just through the window, but nevertheless). Document it! It’ll help you keep track of where you’ve been and what you’ve done.
.) Shake hands with every fan you can. While you hope the fans remember the show for the music, you can guarantee they’ll never forget you if you take a bit to say hi afterwards. Be sincere, tell them thank you. You don’t get to do this if they aren’t behind you!
.) Try to get enough rest. Late nights and early bus calls can take a toll. Take advantage of drives and days off to catch up on sleep so that your show doesn’t suffer.
.) Always thank the club/venue for having you. At the end of the day, you want to be invited back. If you act like a jackass, that’s a lot less likely to happen. Be a decent human being, be humble, be thankful for the opportunity.
