Texas King

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the alternative band, Texas King, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.

Right before this tour began, Jordan (Guitar/ Vocals) received a beautiful guitar from the kind folks over at Heritage guitars in Kalamazoo Michigan.
We played park jam (rock night) in our home town London Ontario. Needless to say, that was an amazing first show to try the new guitar out at. Then we hit the road! 51 shows with the new beauty. He couldn’t wait!
So we roll into Washington DC. The first couple of shows of the tour with Big Wreck have been going amazing!
The DC crowd was SHIT hot; ready to rock! And so we rocked. At the end of the set Jordan went out to attempt a crowd surf, unfortunately, they weren’t going to be able to support him. As he turned back towards the stage, his foot caught the monitor which sent him tumbling to the ground. The choice in the moment seemed to be breaking his wrists, or this beautiful new guitar. It’s worth noting Jordan had mentioned on this tour that he had never connected with a guitar, like he had with this one, ever before. What would you do?
Unfortunately, the headstock of the guitar took the brunt of the impact and completely snapped off. Jordan meanwhile leaning against Colin’s guitar amp case while the amp sitting above rocked from side to side. Luckily it stopped and didn’t fall on his head below. Jordan walked away relatively okay, with just a twisted ankle.
Thankfully the wonderful, and very helpful crew of Big Wreck came to the rescue and offered to repair Jordan’s guitar.

Keep up with the band on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
