The Copyrights – TOUR TIPS

Pop punk band, The Copyrights, have written a helpful set of Tour Tips that you guys can learn from. You can check them out after the break.

1.  Have a merch person.  People don’t buy records anymore, so selling merch at shows is pretty important.  None of you really want to sit there at all times, and you really need somewhere there at all times.
2.  If you have more than one singer, bring an extra mic/cable/stand with you.  You would be surprised how many places just automatically think they only need one mic.
3.  If there’s room, bring a rug or something to put drums on.  They WILL slide on a solid surface and sometimes a rug isn’t around.
4.  Ditch the trailer idea.  Horrible for your van, horrible gas mileage, are easy targets, and make it impossible and/or even more expensive to park in cities.  Higher tolls too.  There is plenty of room for 5 people, luggage, merch, and equipment in a cargo van.
5.  Eat the food people/clubs give you and drink the beer people give you.  All of it.  Never waste it.  Take it with you at the end of the night and save your money.  Not all places will be nice enough to give you food and drinks, so take full advantage when it does happen.
