1. Don’t Be Lazy!
See all that you can see, do all that you can do. You’ve been afforded a great opportunity to see parts of the world simply because you play music. Don’t let it all pass you by.
2. Don’t Be A Pain in the Ass!
Unless you’re touring as a One-Man/Woman Show, you’re traveling as one part of a group. Don’t make everyone wait for you at every corner of the day. Be respectful of the group!
3. Don’t Overpack!
It’s inevitable that you’ll collect a few memories in the form of tangible objects out on the road. And there’s an even better chance of you picking up a few band t-shirts from the bands you share the stage with on your tour. Keep that in mind when you’re trying to pack 25 of your favourite t-shirts into your tiny suitcase.
4. The All Important Stage Clothes!
About to head out for several weeks on the road? Do yourself a favour and set aside 1 or 2 sets of clothes to exclusively wear on stage. Stage lights are hot, and it’s more fun to jump around on stage than to stand there like a dead fish. Odds are you’ll likely ruin a few shirts from playing hot, sweaty shows. So nip that in the bud and seal the stinky, salt-stained fate of a couple in particular, and in turn save the rest of your wardrobe and your band-mates noses from a nasty tour stench.
