Our dream tour would be State Champs, Fall Out Boy, Circa Survive, The Story So Far, and Brand New.
Brian: State Champs has jumped on my radar as a band that is doing what my band aspires to do very well. A lot of bands today manage to use both high energy instrumentals and catchy, poppy vocal hooks pretty well, but nobody seems to do it as cohesively as they do. That cohesiveness in creating a product that isn’t in any way jarring to the listener, but also taps into the benefits of both pop and rock, is something that I hope to one day achieve to the extent that they have, which is why I think they would make a great addition to my dream tour.
John: I would absolutely love to tour with Fall Out Boy. I was in high school when From Under the Cork Tree came out and it helped change my perspective and open me up to other genres of music. I initially started playing guitar because of thrash metal (long hair and all) and was a die-hard metalhead through and through, but when I heard that Fall Out Boy record, the songs were just too catchy to not enjoy. Plus I think a lot of the new stuff they put out is dope as well.
Daniel: I spent about an hour thinking of which band I would select as my all time favorite band for this tour. Circa Survive has to be my pick. Across all of their records, I don’t think there’s a single bad song, not one that I skip in favor of the next track. I’ve seen them five or six times, and every time they’re incredible. To see them live every night for a month would be amazing. They have like 80 songs they could play and I’d never get tired of them. If I were to pick only one band to open for, it would definitely be Circa.
Rob: I would love to tour with The Story So Far. Their albums possess every element that a pop punk album should have. From their EP to their split, to their 4 full-length albums, they’ve grown musically and never strayed away from their sound. It’s amazing how every song that they create can you make you feel a certain way. Being able to tour with them would be an honor. I bet I would learn a lot, just by being able to watch them perform every night.
Ryan: I would love to tour with Brand New doing a reunion tour of their record “Your Favorite Weapon”. Brand New is probably my favorite band, but we probably wouldn’t fit on a tour with them simply because their sound has changed so much. But “Your Favorite Weapon” has a lot of pop punk / early emo elements to it, and I think we would fit with that tour pretty well.
