Shannon: We’ve got quite a few crazy stories haha. Although, a good majority of them originate from a little place in Memphis Tennessee called Coyote Ugly. It’s a straight shot bar on Beale Street where we have often retreated to after playing a killer show in Memphis. The culture of this bar is for its customers to only drink shots. They do serve Coke and Pabst Blue Ribbon for the weak hearted but it’s highly shunned upon when ordered. Everyone is encouraged to take shot after shot. Another unique part of this bar’s culture is that they urge all the females to get on stage and dance. Men are not allowed on stage, typically due to them getting out of hand while up there.
So on this particular night, we had been drinking heavily with the whole crew, and we met a group of Australian girls that were on vacation visiting the states (amazingly sexy accents). After hanging out with them for awhile we started doing shots. Then toward the end of the night, around 3:00 am, we retreated to the swimming pool at their hotel after the bar closed. At this point, you’re wondering if we all got laid and had a Motley Crue type of evening. This is not what happened. No one got laid, but we did get to go swimming with some attractive foreign girls at a 5-star hotel.
Another Coyote Ugly moment was when we left and I pissed on Beale Street. Yes, it was me. We left the bar to load into the van and I stated: “I gotta take a piss.” I was so drunk I whipped my dick out right in public and began urinating in front of everyone. Apparently, there was a man walking by on the phone that was taken off guard. I do not remember this moment, but they tell me it definitely happened. Hence, another reason I quit drinking.
