I’ve had a few tour pranks pulled on me over the years, the first of which being an actual low key theft of my trailer by the headlining band of the tour I was on. I was touring in a little SUV at the time and the trailer was kind of easy to get off, so they unhooked it and hid it behind some dumpster thing in the back of the hotel in LA my band and I were staying at. They didn’t keep it going on too long; being that it was our first time in LA, nobody realized until after that it wasn’t the greatest area to play that type of joke.
Another good one was on a tour with my friends in Breathe Carolina. We both had our buses parked in the back of a venue in, I think, Syracuse, NY and for some reason, they had gotten their hands on a bunch of bottle rockets. It was pretty late after the show and everyone was partying, and the bottle rockets made a guest appearance in the form of projectiles being shot down the entire length of the bus, down the hall, into the back lounge by the Breathe guys. We obviously retaliated with a direct attack via their windows.
Most of the time the tour pranks are pretty tame, both on the receiving and giving ends. I (and I think some of the other bands we tour with) get weirdly stressed now trying to anticipate that type of thing at the end of a tour, so everyone sort of goes really light on them.
