The Rise – DREAM TOUR

Being upcoming artists with no touring experience (yet!) we’re eager to play anywhere, anytime with anyone. But imagine that the sky is the limit. We would love to tour with artists that amazed and inspired us throughout our childhood up to this very day. For starters Janet Jackson. Especially Mavis has always been intrigued by Janet, “Miss. Jackson if you’re nasty.” Janet has become part of my DNA. Always accessible and catchy even when the lyrics are deep and conscious. Her music videos and choreography are trendsetting and have clearly inspired our pop culture. Being on tour with her would be a childhood dream come true!

To stick with the Jacksons we would love to have gone on tour with the King of Pop. Our two-year-old daughter discovered Michael Jackson a few weeks ago and was hooked right from the start. His unearthly dance moves, charisma and explosive shows are pure magic. We love his natural feel for rhythm. It’s in his moves, his beats. It is so sad that many great artists that have marked our musical pathway have passed away. Like Prince. A musical genius that was so pure in his expressions. Luckily enough we experienced his live performance six years ago. Mind-blowing how tight he and his band played for three hours on a high energetic level. It was the best adrenaline rush ever.

On our single You, Me and the Moon, Gijs plays a funky saxophone solo. Imagine jazz saxophone player Michael Brecker sharing the stage with us. Blowing us away with his unprecedented musicianship and raising Gijs’ heart rate to its maximum. Unfortunately, he is one of those great legends that is not with us anymore. “Two return tickets to heaven please!”
