The Vaniers - DREAM TOUR
Join us as The Vaniers reveal who they would want on their dream tour.
In this Dream Tour segment, the indie rock band, The Vaniers, reveals who they would want on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks below:
This is a crazy question but it’s too good to resist. We all have pretty diverse tastes, but where they overlap would make for a pretty rad festival.
So here it is: MEGAFEST 2025; Mount Fuji, Japan.
We’ll start with the lowest hanging fruit: Oasis headliner.
Oasis is a band that we can all agree are mega – perfect for MEGAFEST. A timeless band that ages like a fine wine. Loaded with charisma, attitude, and spirit and have been super influential to us beyond the music. Easy to imagine the show they’d put on – look no further than Knebworth. It’d be unbelievable to see them command the stage in their prime and not to mention, a potential fist fight between the brothers.
Right before them would have to be Thin Lizzy - with their classic lineup. Can’t say how many times we’ve found ourselves binge watching their live set ‘A Night on The Town 1976’ after rehearsals. Possibly the most underrated band of all time and deserve a seat at the table with the rest of the giants – without a doubt. Lizzy has written some of our favourite tunes and have been a massive influence for us – especially in recent days. A cool side note is that some of their most influential work was recorded in our hometown, Toronto. It must’ve been a complete spectacle to see Phil in the flesh, those legendary harmonizing guitars, and Downey’s signature shuffle. Naturally, they’d have to be on the list.
To throw in a little curveball, Queens of the Stone Age.
I say curveball only because you wouldn’t necessarily think of them after listening to our tunes. Nevertheless, they are one of our favourite bands. Maybe one of the most unique sounding groups to come out of the 90s, and one of the few that can make highly influential albums in different eras of music. Time and time again, they never fail to re-invent themselves, and it’s obvious they’re not afraid to upset a few hardcore fans. This is something everyone in the band has come to respect a lot as we go into promoting our second album, and now slowly working on the third. You’ve got to take risks, and they do exactly that.
As for the rest of the lineup: The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Cage the Elephant, Kasabian, Liam Gallagher solo, Tame Impala all deserve a spot at MEGAFEST as well as many more – but we’ll leave it at that. Oh, and we’re opening the festival at noon – see you there.
