The Venetia Fair – 1st ROAD BLOG from their “Summer Tour 2011”

The Venetia Fair is on their 2011 summer tour with Composure and Young English. While on tour they will be writing periodic blogs for us. The first one can be read after the break!

First day of tour was last night.  Kicked off in Wakefield MA, a last minute hometown show.  It was a typical first day of tour show.  All of our gear broke before we even started the first song.  Now that all of our gear is broken, we’re going to spend the day fixing all of our broken gear so we can break it again tonight in Boonton, NJ.  The show wasn’t a full failure.  There were some good bands, there were some fun times.  Check out The Wicked.  They were good.  They do a pretty rad cover of a song by Mike’s old band Kiss Kiss.

I hope we see some road kill on the road today.  Maybe we can find dinner.

Morning was spent cooking eggs that came out bad.  They were bad.  We also had coffee.  That was good.  Coffee was good.  Mr. Chark was the coffee man.  I was the egg man.  Andy did the toast cause he was the toast man.  Mike was supposed to be the toast man but he was a pussy and didn’t get to it in time.  Also on a side note, Mike is not smarter than the rest of us.  Pretty standard breakfast.  Mr. Chark got  nude a few times.

Ben missed breakfast because he was at home looking for his pants that he was missing.  He’s sad about his pants.  They were good.  And now they are gone.  Its like not having pie when you want pie.

We’re on our drive from Wakefield to Boonton right now.  We have a new merch guy for this tour named Andy.  He’s killin it.  He’s in a band called Another Option.  You should check them out.

So far we’ve been in the van for less than an hour, and we’ve finished all of our beer.  This is quite a problem seeing how we have 5 hours till we get to where we are going.   Last night I bought some alcohol for some minors and stole 4 dollars from them so I could buy some cheap vodka, so I have some of that.  Hopefully that will get me through the day.

This tour is a pretty weird tour.  The first leg of the tour was booked pretty last minute.  We don’t know where we are going or how the shows are going to be or what bands we are playing with and whatever and whatever shit.  Most of the dates are in the northeast for this leg.  But like… I would never care about where we go.  I just like goin, yanno?

Theres not much to write for our first tour blog, so I apologize.  We’ve only been on tour for about 15 hours.  Next update will be killer rad awesome.
