Okay, let’s do this.
We’re calling this thing, JOE JUBILEE.
I think our headliner will be Nick Drake. Just off the top of my head. We’ll get him to headline the Jubilee.
At this thing, Nick will play Pink Moon from front to back, in order. You know how bands do comebacks, and they advertise it that the band will play their “hit” album in full? It will be like that.
We’ll have all the Hank Williams boys come out for this too. They can all play each others songs all together on stage in one set, which would be cool.
We’ll have John Lee Hooker on this thing. Yeah, we’ll have John Lee Hooker, we’d have him play all of his hits, like Queen Bee and stuff.
Then we’ll also throw on Madeleine Peyroux, and she’ll do all the french hits and bring out her Frenchies.
Maybe I’d put Smog up next, we’ll ask him to do Red Apple Falls and that era of his jams. At this point, everyone will be fast asleep and we’ll try to get the crowd moving. Or maybe we don’t.
Up next we got Neil Young, original lineup, maybe even his wife will be there. I want him to do Crazy Horse stuff as well as Harvest. Let’s put The Band in there too. I’d like the original lineup of them too.
Okay, we gotta pick this up a bit and get some relevant acts going to bring the young kids out. Maybe if D’Angelo is down, we’ll put him in there. I think he just made a comeback, or just put out a new record.
Let’s also throw on Grizzly Bear, because I ran into one of those guys at the hotel recently, and their music is so dope.
Also as an opener, we’ll put in someone like Diplo because anywhere this dude goes, he will surely bring a million people out. It’s not necessarily that I’m into this kind of music, but we need to be realistic and put someone that’s big on this thing. We are definitely going to need some support getting kids to come out to this thing. Man, this is a good freaking show. I would love to see this.
Dang, we’d have to get some sponsors for this thing, these artists are going to cost so much. Verizon Wireless just called, and they want to put their name all over this thing. I don’t think we can do that because it’s a little too corporate and maybe Neil Young won’t want to do this anymore. We’ll need to get a huge company with a bunch of money, that’s not too corporate, like Trader Joe’s.
So this tour festival thing is going to be free. But Trader Joe’s is definitely going to have to step it up, because it’s going to cost some serious capital to resurrect some of these artists from the dead.
Maybe we can kind of charge, you know how some places say, free with… blank.
We can say like, “FREE” in huge font, but in fine print say something like, “with help cleaning up after.” or “FREE with a trader joe’s receipt.”
And it will be a B.Y.O.B.
Yeah, I’m not really sure how this thing is going to actually go. This thing actually might go off the rails pretty quickly.
