Todd Clouser – TOUR TIPS

Jazz artist, Todd Clouser, was kind enough to write a set of awesome Tour Tips for you guys to learn from. You can check them out after the break.

1. Prepare to be humbled, most inquiries will go ignored
2. The soundman is your friend and equal, if not superior. If you don’t treat him that way, your music sounds like shit for the night.
3. Bring headphones, even the best of friends tire of each other’s voices, gig payment complaints, and breakdowns of other players. Stay an artist.
4. Do it do it do it if you believe in your music. Its a haul, you wont be treated with the reverence you think you deserve, and will most likely lose money at first, but its the good fight.
5. Once the term “band meeting” is used when serious topics need to be discussed, you’re done for. Talk comes naturally in things that last.
