The Tontons – TOUR TIPS

This new set of Tour Tips was written by indie rock band, The Tontons. You can check out their tips for being on the road, after the break.

1) Socks – You can never have enough socks. Change them daily. Can’t stress that enough. You will learn quickly that your feet start smelling a lot. Also some foot odor spray will save you a lot of embarrassing situations.

2) Podcasts – Podcasts will keep you sane. Recommend “This American Life” and “My Brother My Brother and Me”. Ever since we started listening to podcasts it has made the long stretches of driving so much easier. Keeps your mind stimulated and sometimes you learn something.

3) No Sushi – If you aren’t near a coast don’t eat sushi. It always seems like a good idea but its the worst possible thing you can do. We have probably been disappointed more times than we can count and we don’t always adhere to this tip because we always think “they all can’t be that bad” but its never true.

4) Pack Light – You don’t really need to bring as much as you think. It ends up getting your vehicle way more cluttered when you bring too many things. You are more likely to lose stuff the more you bring.

5) Yelp – It has come in handy while traveling. We didn’t always use it, but it has helped guide us across America to food, coffee, record stores, etc.. , especially in cities we have never been to. We have yet to write a review, but thank you to anyone who has.
