It’s an incredibly hard task to put together a dream tour lineup when there are so many bands out there that have influenced us and our music.
First and foremost there is Periphery.
This band has been an influence since their very first self-titled record. The way they approach songwriting, in general, is on a whole other level. Every song feels like it has it’s own unique personality or soul for that matter. To be able to do something you haven’t done before in every song is something incredibly valuable as a musician and it’s definitely something we strive to be able to do as well.
Next up there would be Polyphia.
The way these guys have been evolving over the years is fascinating to watch. Where the first records heavily relied on shredding and fast drumming, their newer stuff incorporates modern electronic elements and a way of playing guitar that nobody else does right now. Needless to say, that has been a huge influence in our guitarist’s way of writing parts and playing their instrument. Communicating emotions through musical ability alone can be especially hard while writing and that’s why we appreciate that kind of music very much! Also backstage might get pretty wild with Polyphia involved.
Last but not least we have to get Polaris up into our dream tour.
These five Australians blew us away when we first heard their song “Lucid”. The raw power and emotion of the vocals coupled with some of the grooviest riffs out there convinced us that this band is a keeper. Since then they have released their newest record “The Death Of Me” which blew us away just as much as their previous work. While watching Polaris perform live you can just feel the energy radiating off of every individual band member. That’s a trait we consider to be extremely important for any band and also something we ourselves think we do pretty well.
So there you have it! To be able to play this tour would be the ultimate dream come true for Torrential Rain!
