For our dream tour lineup, we decided to have each band member choose one band! We all have greatly varying influences and each one contributes to our sound.
Tim (Bass/Vocals) – One of my best friends told me the day The Chariot broke up is the day music died. I’m not so sure that I’d classify what they produce as “music” … it’s more a magnitudinous sonic assault that blasts the very flesh from your bones and culminates in the band destroying all their instruments they were wielding like battle axes. These were true artists. I don’t care what era, just put The Chariot back on stage and let them do their thing for one more show – I would add them to our dream tour, hands down!
Eric (Guitar) – For this dream tour lineup I have to go with Children of Bodom. They are my favorite band by far and a huge influence on my guitar playing and songwriting. Playing their song “Hate Crew Deathroll” on stage with their guitarist/frontman Alexi would be a dream come true for me!
Nick (Guitar) – Definitely Emperor. They are one of my favorite bands but they haven’t been back to the states in well over 10 years. Watching videos of them performing at big European metal festivals like Wacken makes me extremely jealous. Ihsahn is a music hero for me and seeing him tremolo pick in front of pyrotechnics would make me lose it.
Scott (Drums) – I would definitely choose Iron Maiden for our dream tour! I think the 2000 Brave New World era Iron Maiden would be perfect – an awesome balance of new and old tunes to create the best blend from the iconic metal band. I’d argue Brave New World is Bruce Dickinson’s best vocal performance on an album too. Also, check out Rock in Rio, the tour DVD for that run, and you’ll see how live those crowds were!! Up the Irons!
There you have it! Our dream tour lineup is: The Chariot, Children of Bodom, Emperor, and Iron Maiden. An odd lineup for sure, but it definitely shows the diversity in our musical interests!
