In this Preshow Rituals segment, the emo band, Widmore, share what they do before every show. You can check out their rituals, after the break.

Every member of Widmore sings during our live performances, so one of the most important pre-show rituals we have is to meet in a secluded area (preferably an empty bathroom or stairwell with some natural reverb) and warm up our vocal chords. We are partial to a few particular Youtube videos and they’re our go-to warm-up exercises before every practice or performance. The whole band loves to be as crazy and energetic as possible at a show, so a full body stretch is also essential for every member to keep nice and limber on stage!
Half of Widmore is vegetarian, so our pre-show sustenance can be a bit of a mixed bag. Our recent favorites have been vegan pizza, Vietnamese food, and the incomparable hummus and crackers combo; Widmore wouldn’t be caught dead without at least two tubs of delectable roasted garlic hummus. The band is never opposed to cracking a couple of cold ones before the show either, most of us prefer a refreshing light draft but our guitarist Eric has a particular and unshared fondness for Guinness.
Both of our frontmen have uniquely opposite rituals before a performance. Our clean vocalist Ruel insists on disappearing to find a quiet spot to meditate and gather himself in peace. In contrast, our screamer Jeremy loves to throw on the most aggressive, trunk-knocking rap music he can find to hype himself up. Currently, his favorite track is the obscene banger “Was Hast Du Gedacht”, from German rapper, GZUZ. Our most important pre-show ritual is coincidentally right before we play; the band gathers into a big group hug to encourage the positive vibes and love we have for each other, our music and our friends who support us.

Keep up with the band on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
