I would love to have a night of psychedelic pop/rock. Music where the melodies feel like they came from somewhere otherworldly yet you can sing along as if it’s second nature. All of these artists are a huge inspiration for my songwriting and it would truly be an honor to even be in their presence.
The first act would be Crowded House. They’re my parents’ favorite band so I have a lot of memories of listening to and singing along with their songs in the car as a kid. For that, they’ll always have a special place in my heart. Neil Finn’s songwriting is so crazy and thought-provoking and a huge inspiration of mine. Distant Sun, Four Seasons In One Day, Weather With You, It’s Only Natural, there are truly too many songs that I would probably sneak on stage just to listen from up close.
The second act I would love to share the stage with would be Daniel Johns. Most people know him from Silverchair but I would personally love for him to play a set of his side project The Dissociatives. I recently got put onto that album and it’s easily some of my favorite music I’ve heard in a long time. The melodies are absolutely insane and when you listen to the songs it really feels like he’s bending the rules of song structure, melody, etc. Which is a really cool experience to listen to and I feel like would make for an incredible show. Admittedly, I would die to hear “Forever and a Day” live.
The headliner would be The Beatles. Like so many musicians, I grew up listening to and worshiping their music. It really shaped my love for pop music as well as songwriting; I think they’ve written some of the most catchy yet musically complex songs of all time. Paul Mccartney and I also share a birthday, so I feel weirdly connected to him. Funny story, I once was at a hotel in Beverly Hills and saw him jogging; I almost went up to him as he was coming back around but his security guard gave me the death stare so I decided against it. My dream would be to come up on stage with them and sing “Here Comes The Sun” or “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”. The Beatles Love show in Vegas was truly an experience I’ll never forget so if we could broadcast some of that footage on a giant LED screen that would be insane.

Keep up with him on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
