The dream tour for us would definitely be worldwide, one that took us to parts of the world we have never been to. It would be amazing to play for massive festival crowds the likes of Glastonbury in England or Bonnaroo in Tennessee. We couldn’t imagine anything better than the 6 of us getting to do nothing but travel and play music together and to get paid to do that well, that is the dream right there!
However if we had a time machine and could travel to and be a part of some of the great tours I think our first stop would be to open with the Beatles at the height of Beatlemania, I mean the sheer size of those crowds and to be playing music that was still so new and different from everything else out there at the time would be such an intense but electric experience.
If you took away our time machine however and said hey guys and gal, it’s 2016 and you can go on tour with any band or performer right now who would it be? I think Mumford and Sons would be the go to for us, such an unbelievable band and having seen them live a few times there are few who bring that kind of passion and intensity to their fans for a live show. When it comes to tours they always seem to find inventive ways of doing shows, whether it’s purposely targeting smaller markets to play shows so they can give a more intimate performance or booking a train and playing from stop to stop. I really appreciate how they try to set themselves apart and bring music fans a taste of the past in a new way and I would love for The Other Words to be a part of that.
Truth be told as a young band just trying to forge its own way in this new age where it is getting more and more competitive and difficult to break out any tour for us would be a dream tour, it’s why we play music, it’s why we drive our significant others past their breaking points and why we work two or three jobs at a time just to be able to get up on that stage and get it all out there for you the fans.
