There are definitely a lot of acts that come to mind for us when thinking about our dream line-up for a tour. And no matter how eclectic our suggestions always end up being in terms of era or genre or popularity, they all have a common thread – they’re all artists whose music has been a soundtrack to our lives at some point or another.
So, difficult as it is to choose, here are three bands we’d love to bring on our dream tour:
Taking Back Sunday – Taking Back Sunday is a band we grew up listening to as teenagers, and in 2019 we had the opportunity to support them on a short Australian tour. (When people tell you to never meet your idols, they aren’t talking about your favourite emo band from Rhode Island)… we would love to play shows with them again, and they definitely make our top three list.
Polyenso – Polyenso’s music has been a big part of our touring life, whether it’s played during long stints of driving, as pre-show music before jumping on stage, or while we are winding down after a long day. Polyenso are just so creative in how they build songs with unconventional instruments and samples, and as a guitar-driven band, we love listening to music that bucks that trend and make us think outside our box.
Vulfpeck – If this seems like an odd choice, it’s a safe bet you haven’t seen their Madison Square Garden performance. In which case you should go watch it right now.
So there you go. It’d probably be a long show, but we’d be happy to play one song a night if it meant giving more time to these artists.
