YVR – PRESHOW RITUALS

In this Preshow Rituals segment, the pop duo, YVR, reveals what they do before taking the stage. You can check out the story, after the break.

The day before our show, we practice our set a few times in the studio. We go full-out just how we would on stage. I (Courtney) then spend an hour or two tearing my closet apart trying to figure out what to wear for the show. I try on about 3-4 different outfits, take pictures of them and send them to my friends for a vote. Meanwhile, Stephen continues to play guitar in the studio for a couple of hours.

The day of the show, we load up the car with our gear and head to soundcheck. Right after soundcheck, we grab some food then we hang out in the car for a while. About 2 hours before the show is when the adrenaline starts to kick in. We usually don’t talk much during this time.

About an hour before the show, I put my make up on in the car (usually in the dark) and change. Then we head into the venue. The moments leading up to going on stage are always the most nerve-racking. We look at each other, breathe deep, shake it off and go on stage. Once we hit the stage, the nerves melt away. All the adrenaline that leads us to the stage works in our favor. We love it!
