Czech Terrorism and UK Border Police

During my 2015 Europe Tour, right in the middle of my set, one of the crew organizers came to the stage and turned down ALL THE FADERS ON MY MIXER. Right before I blew up on his face, he said “The police is here. There’s a bomb threat in the area. We have to turn off the music.” I was like “WTF???”, then he said “Don’t worry. It’s probably some fucktard who called the police because the bass was too loud.”

So we stormed out of the festival area, found Forbidden Society who was playing after me, and he was extremely annoyed too because he could miss his set. So I said “After this is all done, I want to find this motherfucker and kill him. Are you with me?” and everybody was like “Yeeeahh!!” “Count me in!!”, then we left while the police searched the area as instructed.

After the police realized it was just a troll call, they let the festival continue and proceeded to find the guy. I don’t know what happened but I sure hope they made him pay a fine that makes him broke for a lifetime. His intent to ruin the festival was futile anyways, as the flock of angry metal ravers went back in to dance while the music kept playing throughout the rest of the night and day. Ravers 1, Czech Terrorists 0.

The second story was a bit less fun though. One of my flights back from Bratislava to Lisbon, where I was staying during my visit in the Schengen area, had a layover in the UK. As a Venezuelan citizen, according to www.gov.ukyou don’t need a visa for a layover up to 24 hours if you have to go through the border.

The immigration officer denied my entry, took my passport and held on to it for about 12 hours while I was in this room as they decided my fate. They sent me back to Bratislava, and not only I lost my flight to Lisbon but also my flights from Lisbon to Estonia and then Prague. For the next weekend. So in spite of being treated like a criminal because they didn’t have the right information, I went to Budapest, and had the best time in my life there with the best companion I could ever ask for. Then bought a second flight from Budapest to Estonia the next Friday and then from Estonia to Prague on Saturday, then back to Lisbon.

If there’s something I’ve learned is that I have a natural way of getting out of shit situations. When I’m in the middle of something I can’t control I immediately find a positive experience that is equally proportional to balance out the shit I went through. Doesn’t work all the time, but if it wasn’t for that trip to Budapest I would have probably spent months chasing lawyers and taking the UK Border Police to court, while I had a tour to take care of. So I let it go. Gotta turn crazy bad into crazy good.
