Our pre-show rituals are all geared towards us being as relaxed and prepared as possible.
Lost Element likes to think of every show as a story that is yet to be written. When we first arrive at a venue we usually take a group picture standing in front of the entrance and introduce ourselves to the venue staff. Everyone in the band works together to unload our trailer and set up the stage to get the technical stuff out of the way. Afterward, we head to the green room or bus and begin the next steps of our pre-show rituals.
As soon as the entire band is together we work on getting loose and enjoy the anticipation of performing and doing what we love. After making fun of each other and cracking jokes we jam to some Queen. Usually Bohemian Rhapsody. Not only is it fun to sing out together and be loud, but we get a great vocal warm up by the end of it! A minute or two after this you can usually find Omar doing pushups in a corner and eating honey to loosen his vocal chords while the others are getting pumped up for the show and making videos/taking pictures with each other.
The last 10 minutes before we step on the stage and perform each band member goes off and spends time alone. Whether it is quietly reflecting on our musical journey, polishing our guitars, or saying hello to family and friends, our goal when we come onto the stage is to be in sync with one another and live in the glorious moment that is performing the music we love.
