Dance Gavin Dance: Considered pioneers of the “new” post hardcore, Dance Gavin Dance easily became one of our favorite bands. With soulful singing, funky guitar riffs, and intricate progressive drumming, DGD spawned a new generation of fans to accompany the this movement, and re-invented how bands in the future would approach composition in this genre. They remain one of the most original bands that has ever graced the roster of a record label that unfortunately is infamous for having many “doppelganger” bands. With perfect timing and precision, DGD have continued to stay loyal to their sound regardless of trials.
System of a Down: In our opinion? The godfathers of nu-metal. They spawned in the era of 90s metal with a style that has yet to be replicated by anyone until this day, 20 years later. SOAD flawlessly incorporated Arabian scales with heavy chunky guitar tones giving a classical yet powerfully emotive feel. Serj provided distinctive vocals with cutthroat lyrics and glorious harmonies that quickly pushed them to the top, outshining the thousands of other bands at the time. The geniuses of an era, they have inspired us to reach for greater heights and to embrace our uniqueness.
The Black Dahlia Murder: Hailed as one of the best melodic death metal bands, TBDM has not failed to provide pure traditional metal within the realm of riffs with a mastery degree in the drumming arts to match put them far and above the rest .This alone should put these guys in the hall of fame in my opinion . And this is also one the bands that introduced us to the melodic side of death metal .Visionaries in the genre.Trevor’s Strnad vocals are iconic to him alone master of the black metal arts and our vocalist truly loves that genre with equal emotion.
