Marianas Trench’s “The Legend Continues Tour” – GALLERY + REVIEW

We recently had the opportunity to check out the Chicago date of Marianas Trench’s “The Legend Continues Tour” and we couldn’t pass it up. You can check out our photos, as well as some info about the band, after the break.

Ok Trenchers, are you excited to see Marianas Trench on their tour? I knew I was! Recent, “The Legend Continues” U.S. tour kicked off in Minneapolis and made its way to Chicago on Saturday at the House of Blues!

Opening for them was Ivy Levan, who if you have not already heard of her, you better start. This Arkansas native lit up the stage and had the whole crowd jumping with her. Check out her songs “Biscuit”, “Hot Damn”, “Don’t Want to Wake Up”, and “Hang Forever”. Her album is set to release in August, so also look out for that! She did a great job of warming up the crowd and getting them ready for the main event.

If you have never seen Canadian natives, Marianas Trench, you are missing out. Truth be told, I have been a fan for the past few years and even had the pleasure of seeing them on their first U.S. tour when they opened for Simple Plan in 2011. Since then they have been rapidly gaining recognition here in the states. This is their second headlining U.S. tour and so far shows have been selling out. It actually surprises me that many people still have not heard of them. So, if you are one of those people that are like “Marianas Trench, who?”, stop what you are doing and listen to “Desperate Measures”, “Fallout”, “Celebrity Status”, “Shake Tramp”, “Sing Sing”, “Good to You”, “Toy Soldiers”, “Acadia” or any other song they have and you will not be disappointed. They are having their fourth album out in the fall so catch up now! The guys played an awesome set filled with all of their hits, so fans couldn’t possibly leave disappointed. Side note, these guys are also some of the most hilarious and nice people you will meet. You can always catch them meeting and talking with fans, long after the show is over. Josh Ramsay always says Chicago is their home away from home and from the love they get from and give to the crowd, you can tell the feeling is mutual.
