Rett Smith – DREAM TOUR

Cream: My dream tour would have to be with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton of Cream. They really embodied everything to me that blues and rock n’ roll are meant to be live. I’ve always felt the musicianship in Cream was superior to almost all of the other 60’s rock gods and to be able to catch how they improvised through the night and let the songs take them to different places, would’ve been a dream come true. Even with these far away places they would let their jams go, they were always able to maintain the coherency of one unit. Also, Eric Clapton was in another world than on what he could do on guitar. Anytime I catch footage from the Cream days he completely melts my face. What a cool band!

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: I’ve been lucky enough to see BRMC live quite a few times, and I’m always blown away by them. They completely transform any room they’re playing, and I’m always left feeling as if I just had some type of religious experience. I feel they are one of the very few bands who still play true rock n’ roll and never come off kitschy or “throwback.” The songwriting is amazing, as are the dynamics of their set, and I couldn’t imagine any other current band I would rather tour with.
