Sunflower Dead – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

Crazy tour story, well…. SFD has a few of those. We are 2 weeks into our first major tour of the US. It was the “Hell Remains Tour” with All That Remains, HellYeah, Nonpoint and us. I get called into production office and very directly have explained to me by two tour managers (both are great people) that SFD is partying TOO MUCH and causing a bit too much trouble for a brand new opening act. They go on to say that they know we are excited to be touring, but since we are new we need to tone it down and let the headliners (also great people) act like headliners and us act like openers. No problem at all, my guys definitely need to calm down. Sometimes I believe that SFD thinks they are Guns N Roses, but that is a different story.

Anyways, I found this funny and explained to them that my guys though extremely humbled and appreciative to be on the tour are not over-excited or partying excessively because of the tour. They are partying because, well… “It’s Tuesday” and that’s just what they do! I have no idea what day it really was, but my point was that they weren’t running around like fanboys pretending to be rock stars, they were just doing the same stuff they would do if they were home, on a Tuesday.

Both tour managers got a kick out of that and we did tone it down from there on out, pretty much, haha. Yeah, maybe some of my guys ended up somewhere in Montana in the woods, drunk, fighting with each other if they were or were not in Newport Beach, CA (What?) before getting arrested in two different states within 3 hours but that’s just how it is when it’s Tuesday!
