We’ve been influenced by many bands over the years but this is about choosing our personal dream tour. It’s funny because we have joked about this often and discussed what our dream tour would be so this is perfect for us.
Meshuggah headlining, The Dillinger Escape Plan co-headlining, Candiria, and The Apex.
Meshuggah has always been the top of their class in our eyes and they’ve practically created their own genre in our opinion. Many may call it djent and many bands may try and fail at recreating what they pioneered but no one seems to be even close to their level in that genre so they would be a no-brainer pick to headline this dream tour.
The Dillinger Escape Plan have also been at the top of their respective genre for as long as we can remember. We’ve seen them live many, many times but to share the stage with them would be a dream come true. Our genre wouldn’t even be around if it weren’t for them so for the tech metal side of us, we would pick no other than the mighty DEP.
Candiria is arguably the reason The Dillinger Escape Plan are who they are today. We feel like Candiria really helped pave the way for the sound Dillinger later changed to after DEP’s self-titled album. (The album they refuse to acknowledge but has some of their most fun songs on it.) Candiria has such a unique way of blending hip-hop with polyrhythms and technical time signatures with sprinkles of jazz fusion throughout that always stood out to us as a band and they influenced us heavily on parts of our own album.
